Videogames and Sushi is a free weekly podcast hosted by two gaijins living in Japan, discussing gaming news and reviews.
During each 20 to 30 minute segment, Zack (American) and Damon Finos (Canadian) delve into current news and events, particularly issues related to the video game industry and its culture in Japan, as well as other Asian countries not often covered in Western magazines and podcasts. Through the advantage of their location and numerous connections in Japan and Asia’s gaming world, they have the scoop on what’s hot and what’s not, what’s cancelled and what’s coming, from Capcom to Konami.
Damon and Zack also set some time to review the games they are currently playing – the good, the bad, and the bizarre. While focussing on the more popular consoles, such as the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo (3)DS, and Playstation Vita, they occasionally take us back to retro gaming on Nintendo’s Famicom, Virtual Boy, Sega Dreamcast, Coleco Vision, Atari, and many other classic systems from our past. Their choice of titles include a wide range of genres, from first-person shooters, to RPGs, to games which have never been released in the West.
Videogames and Sushi is also available on iTunes.
